Mystic Menopause is off "pause"
... because "nobody ever talks about [menopause]" and it's high time we do
I stopped this blog UFN because my work life ramped up and has been going full-steam-ahead ever since. Full-time job plus work on the side, most of this at a computer.
But now I really want to dedicate time to this blog because others will benefit from it. Today, a 40-year-old acquaintance revealed to me that she’s been having intensely awful perimenopausal symptoms. She’s outraged that nobody ever told her about these things, that “NOBODY EVER TALKS ABOUT IT!”. “We talk about everything else! Why not this? I could’ve used a ten-year ‘heads up’!” she lamented.
Moreover, her doctor and others are telling her, “You’re too young for this. It has to be your imagination.” I heartily concur with this gal that hot flashes are hella not imaginary. I dare you to proclaim to a woman whose hormonal fluctuations are causing uncontrollable rage that it’s her imagination. Therefore, in your honor, Honey, for the benefit of younger women as well as more mature women, for men who need to understand what their loved ones are going through, for young’uns who want a way to get along with Witchy-Weepy Mama, for the benefit of all of humanity, I am resuming “Mystic Menopause”.
Since I must also sleep, bathe, and eat, in addition to work, I’m aiming for publishing a new post roughly once every two weeks. To my existing subscribers: let me know if there’s a specific topic you’d like addressed. I never run out of ideas.
